Petir stopped the submarinen by dropping the anchor and stopping its engine. The sound of machine stops and left only silence in that vessel. Guntur and Topan unbuckled themselves from the seatbelts and stand up, waiting for cues from Petir as to when and how they will enter Garuda from there.
"Right! So, what we need to do is one of the most challenging we, Neo Renegades, have ever done. At least in my knowledge," announced Petir.
"Which is?" asked Topan.
"We are going to wear these suits and swim up, using the anchor of Garuda as our guideline. Then as we enter the body of the ship, we will have to quickly go up and remove our suits."
"But you said the water is toxic?" asked Guntur, shaking with the imagination of dying from both intoxication and drowning.
"Hence, why we need these suits!"
"Right."
Guntur stared at Petir who is now taking out two pieces of suits from a cabinet in the vessel. He also took out one black duffle bag then dropped it on the floor. He signaled Topan to look into the duffle bag. Topan bends down and opens the bag where he finds one guard uniform and one janitor uniform.
"The guard uniform would be for Topan. Guntur will be wearing the janitor uniform."
"Like the olden days, huh?" said Topan.
"I suppose having your old occupation back will make it easier for you to slip inside without being noticed. Great camouflage, right?" answered Petir.
"So, you are suggesting that we swim up there while carrying this bag and change to these uniforms before entering the main palace?" Guntur confirms the mission one more time.
Both Petir and Topan nod as an answer. In silence, Petir turned away so Guntur and Topan can change into their diving suits. The diving suit is black, covering all inches of the body from toe up until the head. After they have put on the suit, it is time for the helmet. The helmet itself goes around the head with the face area being made from transparent plastic for visibility. There is a vacuum that tigthen around the neck area with the second seal around the top of shoulder.
"Are you both suited up?" asked Petir, returning to where Guntur and Topan are.
"Quick question though. How are we supposed to breathe in here? In no time, we will run out of oxygen," said Topan.
"Good question. Here is a small oxygen tank that you will carry on your back. This oxygen tank will only last you about one hour maximum. So, thirty minutes to go up and thirty minutes to come back down. There is already room for mistakes."
"Room for mistakes?" asked Guntur, still as anxious as before.
"Yes. According to my calculation, it should take about 28 minutes to dive up until you resurface there."
"In other words, you are only giving us 2 minutes as the 'room for mistake'?" asked Topan.
Petir smiles as the answer while Topan rolls his eyes in amazement. He thought that this whole plan is ridiculous. Even though, to be fair, he was the one assigned to lead it by Hindia and Thalassia. He checked the oxygen tank; whether it has been locked correctly and whether it actually works. After reconfirming it for the third time, he is ready to go. He signals Guntur to prepare for jumping into the diving area of the submarine. Guntur nods in agreement so Topan signals Petir to open the door so that they can enter the diving area, which is vacuum.
Petir opens the door for Guntur and Topan to enter the diving area. After ensuring the two are ready, he closed the door. Petir then pushes another button to let water get into the diving area little by little, allowing Guntur and Topan to adjust to the water and then submerged. Guntur and Topan are panicking because none have experienced anything like this before. But as the water cover their whole body and they realize that they are able to breath inside the suit, the two start to calm down.
As if Petir already knows how long it takes for divers to adjust; he slowly open the lid of the submarine, exposing the diving area to the open water. Topan immediately swims up and out of the vessel. Guntur, on the other hand, is having a small panic attack as he cannot stop himself from imagining the many kinds of sea monsters that can attack them in the open sea. Topan looked back and point upwards, telling Guntur to quickly swim out.
Having no choice, Guntur swims up with shaky feet. He kicks outward as hard as he could but as soon as he is out of the vessel, he immediately gets dragged by the current.
"What are you doing? Hang on!" Luckily, Topan saw what happened and spontaneously grabs Guntur's hand, preventing him from drifitng away.
"Aaaaahhh!"
Guntur could not say anything but scream to himself inside the suit. He is not even sure if Topan could hear him. He then held into the enormous anchor chain. Collecting himself, he looks up to gauge how far he would have to swim up to reach the ship. Slowly but steadily, Guntur follows Topan in swimming up while guiding himself on the anchor chain.
After what has felt like an eternity, Guntur and Topan finally reached the surface- which is on the bottom part of Garuda. They emerged out of the water with a splash, feeling thrilled and glad that they are finally out of the dark and cold water. Topan climbs out of the water, exposing himself thoroughly to the surface air. Luckily, no one is guarding this lowest point of Garuda ship. Not necessarily because they do not have enough people; but, because there has been no need to guard an empty space. Prior to this attempt, there has not been a single attack to any country using a submarine.
Topan gives his hand to Guntur to help him up and out of the water. Guntur gladly takes his hand and finally surfaces completely. They hurriedly find a more stable area-which is not where they can accidently fall into the water again- then changes their diving suits into the dedicated uniforms.
