PART 12

Puberty

During Sunday morning I wake up earlier with intention to cook some food. I won’t skip breakfast although it weekend.

Then, when I walk to the kicthen, I see Dallen bring his bed cover and blanket down. For a second I wonder, is it time to wash it all? Wasn't it just yesterday it was replaced? Before feel more curious I asking him instead.

“Dallen, what are you doing?”

“It's.. it's nothing!” He jolt suddenly.

Looking his weird behaviour make me more curious.

“It’s time for laundry?”

“Y..yeah!” He look pale. He even try to hide the bed cover and blanket on his back but it vain.

This is the first time I've seen this strange behavior. If he was trying to hide the blanket, then there must be something he was ashamed of it. Does he wet the bed? But he's fifteen years old, and he's never been before.

Wait, fifteen year old boy it’s mean..

“Dallen, are you have a weird dream yesterday?”

His facial expression was more surprised than before. both his eyes opened wide and looked at me with a panicked.

“It’s true?” I got closer and could see that the blanket was already wet.

“Oh.. I see. You don’t have to worry. I wouldn’t judge you. Also this is normal stage for you.”

Dallen's face turn red. Even though he wasn't as defensive as before, he kept his distance from me.

“I can explain it for you but it feels not right if i do so. I will call Julian to comes-”

“NO!” Dallen hold my arm.

“Why? He also has experience as yours.”

“He.. did?”

“Yup. All man I guess? Don’t worry just clean your things first.”

Maybe from the start he was afraid of being scolded. Even though he also didn't understand what was going on, instead felt embarrassed by the new thing. After seeing that I didn’t mad at him or mocking him, his expression turned calm than before.

After hours Julian came to my house with some books about man, sex and others things. I order him to bring it.

“You should explain to him everything now.”

“Huh? What’s happen?”

“What do you think will happen with fifteen years old boy?”

Julian stare at me then he blink.

“Dallen, are you have weird dream?”

Dallen didn’t answer and just looking down. I think he still can't accept his situation.

“Yes. His bed cover and blanket be the victim also evidence.” I speak for Dallen. His face turn red again when I said that.

“Don’t just stare at him! Explain!” I yelled at Julian.

“Why don’t you explain it to him?”

“So you want me to explain something that I never experience at all? Can you explain about menstruation when you never experience it? Look at the situation!”

I hit his arm hard out of anger.

“Alright-alright. Don’t get mad so easliy.” He just sigh bit and then explain to Dallen as my order.

Julian explained all of that in quite detail but easy to understand. He also added some information from doctors view about his new condition. It's turn out that his job as a forensic doctor was useful too.

After a while Dallen finally started to understand his situation. Although still a bit clumsy but he was not as tense as before.

“Man puberty doesn't stop here. You have to be ready experience significan't changes in your body later. Like growing a mustache, a beard, a voice that grows bigger because of the adam's apple.”

“Ladies also go through puberty but it's a little different. Hey, Veronica, when did you get your first puberty?”

“Emm, fortheen.”

“See? A Ladies usually gets their puberty sooner than a Man. For Ladies it's called menstruation or better known as a period because they get their menstruation usually once at month. Right?” Julian looking at me. As if he made sure that his explanation was appropriate and accurate.

“Yup.” I just said that with nod.

“When yours period times? Beginning of the month or end?” Julian seems curious but I know that's curiousity is just his things as a doctor.

“I get my period yesterday for this month.” I calmly answer his question.

Suddenly Julian expression change little bit panic.

“You should know this too Dallen. Don’t meesing around with ladies who in their period or you will die.”

“Hei! Why are you exaggerating something not true!” I get pissed off and glare at Julian.

“When ladies get their period they turn into scary monsters!” Julian as if he didn’t hear. He even make terrifying expression to get Dallen belief.

“HEI!!” I smack Julian with pillow behind me.

The day end after I pick a fight with Julian.
