PART 09

Supermarket

I am Veronica. The next leader of Honey Bee company. When I turn into 19, I found little kid in the waterfall. Me and my uncle, Julian was searching for his family six month long but still can't find his family. This searching more difficult cause he lost all his memory. He even forget his own name.

During this time, I try to build good friendship with him. I invite him to plays, learn new things, even give him a new name. So today, I have plan to bring him along with me to the supermarket.

“Wow, today is so crowded more than I expect.” Many people in the supermarket even though it's not shopping day.

“Dallen, you alright? So many people. Do you want to hold my hand?” I worried he will separed from me somehow.

“No. I’m fine.” Dallen seems really independent.

I don’t know what he think, but I guess he doesn't hate physical touch I give to him. It’s just when I holding his hand or hug him, he never responds back.

Since three month ago, he finally willing to speak little by little. At first he just speak when he need something but later he can speak well with all of us. I mean, me Julian and psychologist.

“Ok then. Don’t get lost and always walk beside me.” I walk while push the trolley.

First I go to the soap row. I pick two for me and two for Dallen. Next I go to shampoo row.

“What do you prefer?” I handed two bottle shampoo to Dallen. Let him make his own decision.

He sniff the both bottle, then chose one of it.

“Good. Let’s go.” I hold myself to not laugh when see Dallen sniff the bottle. Although he looks so cute.

Then I go to household items like, mop soap, detergent, dish soap and many others.

“Nah, after this we will go the-” I stunned there.

“Dallen?” I looking around.

“Dallen where are you??” I let go my trolley and searching more far.

Nothing. I can't find him anywhere near there.

Oh no, I lost him.

In that time, I have goosebump all over my body.

How is it, I lost Dallen or maybe he the one who lost me. I’m so confused and don’t know what to do. So I just walk around try to find him.

In the way looking for him, I wonder. Is he already find his family so he is leaving me now? But how could he just gone like that without saying a single word? Where is he?

Was he get kidnapped??

Panic, I call Julian. Tell him that Dallen lost at the supermarket. He give me short solution for made a request to broadcast it in the supermarket.

I run away with speed in the inside of supermarket. Go to cashier and ask them to made broadcast.

Before I made the request, I see a little kid sitting on the edge of the exit while squatting and hugging his legs.

I ran into him and hug him instantly.

My eyes shed tears.

“Oh God, thank you. I thought I was lost you.” I hug him while crying.

If I lose him like that, I must feel really guilty day by day.

“How could you get here?” I rub his cheeck gently with my hand.

Dallen tell me that he was get distracted by some toy. Robotic toy on the last row before I got to the dish soap.

Then when he realize that I was walk away, he try to find me. But get lost. The bad thing is that he accidentally followed someone who was dressed like me. He was shocked to realize it wasn't me.

He was confused for a while. He try his best to not cry. Then with little bit observe, he got an idea.

He seen, everyone who enters the supermarket only can exit through the door behind the cashier.

So he thought, rather than looking for me everywhere, it's better to him wait in the outside around the cashier.

Hear his explanation, I cry even more.

“I’m so sorry not paying attention on you. Also thank you for being so patient, brave and smart.” I hug him again.

Maybe Dallen feel what I feel, so he pat my shoulder. Try to calm me down.

“Alright. This time hold my hand. Ok?”

Dallen without answer, holding back my hand instantly.
