The younger brother sneezed, the older brother chuckled. Seven year old Otori Eiichi was left alone to take care of two year old Otori Eiji. Their father had idol work to take care of, while their mother had business overseas. Not that he minds, he loves playing with his little brother.
"Cold..." Eiji said with a little sniffle. His nose was red and he was already stuffed in two jackets and a blanket.
"Tonight is colder than usual." Eiichi said, nodding. Then he smiled. "But it's fine! We can just snuggle into my bed together. We'll keep each other warm!"
Eiji's face lightened up at the word snuggle. "Hugs!"
Eiichi giggled. "Hugs and snuggles!"
"Huggles!" Eiji cheered, comepletely forgetting he was cold just a moment ago.
"Mhm!" Eiichi stood up in front of his brother and pulled him up. Eiji held onto the blanket until they reached Eiichi's room.
The older brunette turned on the heater and folded the blanket the younger one was carrying, while Eiji struggled to take off his coats. Once that was accomplished, he quickly made his way onto the bed, once again struggling to get on top. Eiichi helped him up when he was done wih the blanket. He wrapped them both in his blanket and placed an arm over Eiji's sleepy form. He stroked his brothers hair and hummed to one of their favorites from their father's album until he fell asleep.
~~~~~
Ten year old Eiichi has been bed ridden for a week. He came down with a fever that just doesn't seem to want to leave. For the millionth time that day, he groaned. He was absolutely bored. His father is working, his brother is at school and his mom is cooking in the kitchen, so he has no one to play with.
He spent the day rolling around the bed, groaning and muttering to himself about how bored he was. Until he heard the door clicked. Five year old Eiji peeked in through the door. "Nii-san?"
Eiichi grinned and motioned his brother to come inside. "Hey. What did you do today?"
"The teacher let us play piano!" Eiji exclaimed. "I'll play for you when we go with Dad to work!" He climbed onto the bed and sat beside the one lying down. "What about you? How are you doing?"
The older one let out a forced laugh. "No worse than yesterday, but not better either." He sneezed again. "Ughh... I'm really bored though."
"Well I'm home now and I don't have homework!" Eiji said proudly. "Let's play a guessing game! I'll pretend to do things and you guess who it is!"
"Charades? Okay." Eiichi sat himself up on the bed while Eiji got down.
After finishing a few rounds, plus dinner, Eiichi got back to bed. The lights were off and his parents are supposedly asleep. He layed there groaning and shivering under his blanket. Then his door opened again. He turned around and found his little brother tiptoeing inside and quietly closing the door.
"Eiji?" He called out.
The younger one quickly made his way onto the bed and stuffed himself into the blanket. "Hi." He greeted with a smile.
"Eiji, you're not supposed to be here. You'll get sick too." Eiichi said with a sigh.
"But you're cold." His brother said, in the cutest tone possible. He snuggled into his brother's arm. "I'll help keep you warm!"
Eiichi felt heat rising up to his cheeks and again he sighed. "Okay fine. But I warned you."
"Mhm!"
The next morning, their parents found the two cuddling each other. They just couldn't bring themselves to wake them up. Not with that much adorableness.
~~~~~
Ten year old Eiji was inside his closet, sobbing quietly. He was waiting for his brother to come and hide from their now rather abusive father. He's alone and terrified. Soon, the door to his room opened and foot steps came to the closet. It opened and fifteen year old Eiichi let himself in. He was carrying a folded blanket with him so they could spend the night in there without a problem.
Right after he closed the door, Eiji tackled him to the floor, still sobbing from before. Eiichi didn't try to get up and instead just held him there. He caressed his back and they stayed that way until Eiji calmed down.
Eiichi smiled. "It's okay. He didn't see me."
Eiji nodded and slowly began to let go. He hugged his knees together as his brother layed out the blanket to cover them both. They both snuggled together as they listen to the shouting outside.
The one line that stuck to their head was, "I'M OUT OF HERE AND I'LL BE TAKING EIICHI WITH ME WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!"
Eiji swallowed. "Nii-san... Are you going to leave?"
Eiichi shook his head with an uncertain expression. "I'm not sure... But I guess so..."
"Will you be okay?" He asked, worry clearly shown in his tone.
"I..." He can't just reply with another 'i don't know', that'll just make Eiji even more worried. He took a deep breath and looked at his brother with determined eyes. "I'll be fine."
The next morning, their father had already packed up his things and he left with Eiichi in tow. He didn't look back, if he did, he wouldn't have been able to leave his mother and beloved brother.
~~~~~
Nine years later, 24 year old Eiichi waited at the lobby of HEAVENS' dormitory. He was expecting someone to arrive in a few minutes. It's been a few weeks since the UtaPri awards and HEAVENS, oh how he hated saying it, had lost. STARISH had gotten an upperhand on them due to this... Happy pulse?? Whatever, he didn't care.
A limo drove up when Kira and Nagi got out of the elevator. The two walked up to their leader who was now standing outside with a really happy, almost out of character, smile. A brunette stepped out of the car. He took a minute to adjust to his surroundings and his eyes stopped at the glasses-wearing man in front of him.
He smiled. "Nii-san!" He ran over to his brother and stopped in front of him.
Eiichi extended an arm and patted his head. "Good to finally see you again, Eiji. Sorry I couldn't come and visit."
He shook his head. "N-no! I-it's alright. You're busy with idol work and dad..." He sighed and shrugged. "Well, I know he wouldn't even let you..."
Nagi interupted with a cough. "Um... Eiichi, aren't you gonna introduce us?"
Eiji turned to him and bowed. "I'm Otori Eiji. Nice to meet you!" He stood up straight and smiled. "You guys don't have to introduce yourselves. You're popular after all."
"Darn right we are." Nagi said with a smirk.
Kira nodded and bowed as well, being the polite man he is. Then he bored his stare at Eiichi. "Your brother?"
Eiichi smirked. "Yep!" He placed an arm over Eiji's shoulders. "And a new member of HEAVENS!"
Eiji let out a nervous laugh and faced the other two. "I've honestly never done an idol's work, but I have seen it. So I hope you guys will show me the ropes and help out when I need it."
"Of course." Kira said, nodding again.
"Stick with me and I'll show you how to be the cutest idol ever!" Nagi said with a smirk. Then he glared. "But if you dare try to be cuter than me, I won't show mercy."
"Uh... Alright." Eiji said, feeling really uncertain.
Eiichi smiled. "Well with that all out of the way, Eiji, you'll be staying in my room tonight because apparently yours is still under renovations. Come on. I'll show you the way."
After getting badgered with questions from Nagi, intensely stared at by Kira and seeing the whole group practice in front of him, Eiji found himself already collapsed on his brother's bed. Eiichi chuckled as he sat beside him. "Tired already, brother?"
"I haven't even started work but it's already so much to take in." The younger one replied. He sighed and turn to his side, facing Eiichi. "So uhh... I guess you heard already, about mom..."
The older brother nodded. "Yeah."
"Sorry, I should've taken better care of her." He apologized.
Eiichi shook his head. "No, don't blame youself. I mean, she wouldn't have wanted you to, right?" He turned arond. "It's fine. We'll get through. I promise." He smirked. "And this time, neither of us are going anywhere."
They both stared at the cieling and waited for sleep to wash over them. Eiji continuously sighed until Eiichi started humming a familiar tune. It was their father's song from all those years back. He smiled as he let his thoughts cleared into nothing.
((an extra thing))
The next morning, Kira and Nagi were wondering why their leader was late to practice for the first time. When they entered his room, they found the brothers sleeping soundly in each other's arms. Nagi was going to scream at them to wake up but Kira stopped him and put a finger on his lips.
"Leave them alone for now." He said as he dragged Nagi out. The younger boy pouted and hesitantly left, but not before taking a picture for the next blackmail to his leader.
