Kamon Day:
"What?! Basara has a sister?!" I exclaimed.
After getting beaten up by Aona, the three of us went back to the cabin. Ironicly, Ryan's back, and he's set up the fire, but Basara isn't. And Riki and Samuru had just told us what they found. Boy, were we surprised.
"I know right?" Riki said.
"We were just as surprised as you are when we saw this picture." Dracyan added.
No doubt. The picture had a younger version of Basara in it along with a younger girl with same colored hair and eyes. She had her hair loose and it was flowing in the wind. They were both smiling into the camera as they were holding onto each other.
"Can't believe it... Big bro had a sis and he never told me..." Ryan whinned.
"Tiger surprise, but you're not his brother." Derek said.
"Shut up!" Ryan grunted.
Then I noticed something sticking out from the back of the frame. "Hey, what's that?"
Roma noticed it too and took the frame. He opened the back and took out a small paper folded in two. "Basara Kurochi and Kurai Kurofuchi." He read aloud.
"That means that girl's name is Kurai." Sumi said, trying to look at the note.
Roma gave it to me and I looked around it. "Well, there's nothing else written on it." I stated.
"Hey, I've been wondering this for a while..." Mitsuru spoke up. "You know each person's names have meaning right?" We nodded. "What does 'Kurochi' mean?"
"As far as I know, 'kuro' means black and 'chi' means blood." Roma said. "Though I'm not sure what 'kuofuchi' is..."
"It means black edge." We turned around at the sudden voice to find Basara by the door, and he didn't look happy. Then again, when is he ever happy? Other than in this picture i guess...
He walked in, his jacket slightly soaked probably because of being out in the snow for so long. He snatched picture frame and headed upstairs as if nothing happened.
"Hang on, Basara." Riki called. Basara stopped at the top of the stairs, but he didn't face us. "Why haven't you tell us you had a sister?"
There was a slight pause before he answered. "Pointless to talk about someone that's already dead." Then he left to one of the rooms. I guess he locked the door because i can hear a small clicking noise from when he closed it.
Then it hit me. "Wait, did he just say 'dead'?" I asked with wide eyes.
"I'm pretty sure he did." Aona shivered.
"Hey guys, check this out." Ken said. We walked over to a monitor he was close to. "The computer is broken but not the flashdrive."
"Flashdrive?" Yuki asked. He took the flashdrive and we saw a label on it. 'Kuro-Siblings'.
"Maybe there's something in it that could tell us what happened." Novu said.
"Isn't it kinda rude to look through other people's personal belongings?" Jenta asked. Wow, he barely made a joke to us all day. I guess he's just been with Bakuga lately.
Novu gave a smirk. "So what if it is? I said this once and I'm willing to say it again. Most people are trying to find their worth in this world, but not me. I understand my nature. Sticking my nose in other people's business isn't just a hobby, it's my life."
"When you say it like that, it makes you sound like a stalker." Bakuga commented.
Novu went back to his innocent smile. "Well, what did you expect? My curiosity often gets the best of me."
I hesistated while saying this but... "Novu, do you have a dual personality complex? Cause the way you're acting is just..."
He gave me a shrug in reply, as if he doesn't really care. "I wouldn't know. This is just the way I am."
"What gave you that idea?" Sumi asked me.
"You haven't noticed?" Samuru asked.
"One minute, he's all innocent and formal and the next thing you know, he has the smirk of a devil plastered to his face!" Simon commented.
"I suggest you take that back Simon..." And I though Basara had personality issues.
"Anyway," My brother cut in to make things less awkward. "Are we gonna watch the video on the flashdrive or what?"
"Video?" We asked.
So it turns out, while we were busy argueing about Novu's personality, Roma and Aona had searched through the files on his mini-laptop. It was actually Dad's laptop, but since Roma is helping his research, Dad bought one for Roma too. How cool is that?
"Let's check it out." Hugo said. He stole the computer and played it with Roma cursing quietly in the background.
In the video, Basara was punching a sand sack with his bare hands. He looked about 7 years old in there. Then he kicked the sand sack and the chain holding it broke, meaning that the sand sack flew across the room, broken.
"That was number 3." He said. Wow, his voice is so different!
"Just 2 left." A girl's voice pitched in.
"Let's go get number 4 Kurai." He said to the camera. Well, technically he was saying it to the person holding the camera, which I assume to be his sister.
"Okay." The video shook and i think it was placed on the table, since Basara and the girl, who looked about 5 years old, was seen by the door. They came in a minute later with another sand sack with them.
"This one's big." Kurai commented.
"Dad used it once." Basara commented.
"He used this for practice?" She asked, sounding surprised.
Basara looked quite uncertain while answering. "Uh... Yeah sure... Practice..."
Kurai's face turned from surpise to confusion. "Are you ok?" When Basara didn't reply, she started poking him. "Big bro? Is something wrong?"
"What?! She calls him 'big bro'?!" Ryan exclaimed. We sushhed him and continue watching.
Basara blinked then gave a small smile. "Yeah, I'm fine." He hung up the sack on his own. "Ok, let's continue."
"Ok." Kurai said. When she went to the camera, the video was over.
"Bummer. I wanted to see Big bro punched that one." Ryan commented.
"Well, we know Basara really does have a sister." Sumi stated.
"Yeah, but..." Riki started.
Yuki finsihed for him. "Didn't Basara said that she's dead? What do you think happened?"
Azaming!!!
