Dark, darkness engulfed her surroundings. She gasped loudly, frantically searching for something, anything, to identify where she exactly is. Though it was useless, as far as her eyes could see is black. She tried to reach out to the dark abyss, only to feel her hand being restrained. She struggled, feeling both her wrist and ankles having the same feeling of restraint. Her heart thudded loudly against her chest, panic quickly filling her mind. She struggled more, hearing the clear sounds of chains chiming throughout the quiet void. Soon enough, the sound was replaced with heavy pants. Hot sweat trickled down her forehead, her wrists and ankles burning with the amount of friction it has endured. She then froze, staring into the endless void, her violet orbs missing its usual gleam. What has happened?
“What’s her status?” The man dressed in a white lab coat asked aloud. His blue eyes fixated on the female being shown on the monitor screen. “High levels of stress and her previous wounds are either already healed or is healing itself at an astounding pace. Lastly, her body is fighting off the last injection quite well. We haven’t gotten the result we wanted yet. The lab is currently working on the next injection. Hopefully, this time it will withstand her immune system,” Another man; dressed in similar attire, explained. He handed the first man a file full of documents. “I see, so things are going just as planned” the first man nod, a satisfied look plastered on his face. He handed back the file, his eyes still on the captive creature.
The human-like creature growled, her violet eyes glowing in the midst of darkness. She tugged harder on the chains, feeling every tug ripping her flesh torturously slow. The chains chimed louder as she grabbed each chain and furiously shaking and tugging it, hoping that the chains would break. The man watched in irritation as the chains were slowly weakening. “Alfred, please do control that thing,” his voice laced in venom. The second man, Alfred, nodded, pulling down a red switch on the control panel just below the monitors.
The creature stopped when she felt a small zap on her wrist. The zap quickly turning into painful electric shocks. Heavy electric currents course through her small body, each one much more painful than the previous ones. She screamed in agony as she felt the continuous shock. Her body wriggled and she all the more tugged the chains, refusing to beg for mercy. Her body then convulsed nonstop when Alfred was told to increase the power. Tears started dripping down her cheeks, feeling herself loosing her consciousness. The man watched the scene unfold, a sinister smile carved his face. She screamed louder. One last shock was all it takes to make her surrender to the darkness. Her eyes drooped closed as she let herself be consumed by darkness once more.

The late afternoon sunshine lightly hit the surface of the clear crystal waters. Gallons of water slowly poured itself at a steady pace into the long stream. The forest was unlike any other of the forest in other planets. Trees the color of lavender can be seen throughout this forest. Flowers as big as the creature inhabiting this planet, decorated the trees and mossy land. The planet itself is full of life. Strange creatures walk among this land, from mice sized carnivores to gigantic insects with magnificent and colorful wings. But hidden high above the tree tops are hundreds of makeshift houses. The house itself is carved within the trees. Inside the trees lived the creature that dominates this planet, Treelings. They stood about 7ft with big violet eyes and smooth purple skin.
A female Treeling crouched under a branch, her eyes closed, her facial feature indicates peace. She felt a gentle shake on her shoulders. She shrugged the hand away, sighing softly when it stopped. Not long after, it started again. Her eyes snapped open, zeroing in on a certain someone who has interrupted her peace. Thira stood over her, a wide smile plastered on her face. “Sister, the game has ended and I have won” she giggled, her eyes sparkled in merit. Ghira smiled gently, amused over her little sisters behavior. “Alright, I’ll admit defeat this time. But next time I will surely be victorious” She smiled mischievously. Before Thira could answer, a loud gong was heard signaling that the sun has set. All the Treelings rushed to their homes. “The gong has been hit, we must hurry home now” Ghira hurriedly said, grabbing Thira’s hand and guiding her to their home. “Sister, I never understood why we must always rush home before the sun has truly set” Thira questioned, her head titling slightly. Ghira paused, seeming hesitant about telling her baby sister. “When darkness arrives so does the danger lurking in it” her tone has finality in them. Thira noticed and didn’t pursue it further.
Just moments before Ghira opened the front door to their house, a loud sound rang through the air. Then all at once everything went silent. Ghira turned towards Thira, her eyes widening. It was as if time has slowed down, a sudden plasma ray hit the side of one tree. One by one the trees fell and more plasma rays came shooting out of the sky. Soon enough the air was full of screams. Ghira recovered from her momentary frozen state and began running, still holding Thira’s hand. They jumped from tree to tree. She took a glimpse at what’s behind her and what she saw was utter destruction. A fire has started and slowly it was eating its way through the forest. Though, Ghira didn’t stop.
Thira tried to keep up with her sister but unfortunately she couldn’t, her feet suddenly gave up and she fell down. A cry left her mouth when a broken branch pierced her foot. Blue blood oozed from her newly form wound. She tried to stand up but failed when she fell down again. Ghira intended to lift her up but was stopped by Thira. “Sister please go on without me, I will only slow us down” She said seeming to accept her end. Ghira shook her head. “I am not leaving without you, Thira. You’re the only one I have left” she said, her face filled with sorrow. Ghira then lifted her sister, ignoring her cry to leave her behind. ‘No, I won’t let them get us, I will get both of us to safety’ she thought. The sound of a spacecraft catch her attention. She glanced above her to see the said spacecraft. She tried her absolute best to outrun it but it was useless. A flash of light suddenly blinded her and all she could do was scream.
***********
The creature slowly regained consciousness. She could feel something prickling her arm. She peered open her eyes to see a human, wearing a lab coat, injecting something into her. She could feel the liquid slowly enter itself into her blood stream, making her feel light headed. A sudden burst of fire ignite within her chest, remembering all the sorrow and pain that they have brought to her. Her eyes instantly shot open, startling the humans in the room. A low growl emitted from her chest, the humans seemed to back away a little. She focused all her energy on her arms and finally release all her strength. The chains snapped like twigs. The humans screamed and immediately tried to retreat. This only fuel her anger towards them. She leaped through the air landing beside one human. She lifted him in the air and snapped him in half. Blood splattered everywhere. The other humans has gotten out but unfortunately someone left the door opened. She went on a rampage destroying everything on her path, killing anything in sight, just to get revenge. Revenge for her sister, her kind, her home.
She stood over all the bodies in the midst of destruction. Blood covered her whole body. A single tear slide down her cheeks. Her eyes dull, lifeless, empty. She lifted her blood covered hand, staring at it. She was now an empty shell. She stared at her wounded wrist, slowly slicing it with her claws. Nothing, she felt nothing as blood dripped down her wrist. She crumbled down, screaming and thrashing. All she did was for nothing. Her planet can’t be saved, her kind is not coming back, Thira is not coming back.
Unknowingly, a figure creeped in the shadows, watching the creature. He pulled out a remote and without hesitance, pressed the single button. When the man opened his eyes, he was met with the monitors showing the creature chained and still struggling. He looked down to see the file in his hand and Alfred standing beside him. “I see, so things are going just as planned” he said nodding in satisfaction. A sinister smile made its way up his face. It has gone just as plan indeed.
