Lizette's (Libby's) Point Of View

“He’s just so cute, isn’t he!?” I shriek in ecstasy as I firmly grip onto the photograph, scooping it up into an embrace.

“Why do you like him so much, anyway?” My best friend, Jayden asks as he plops beside me on the bed.

“Love doesn’t always have to be rational, Jay. Perhaps that’s the idea of it; it’s absurd and it inflicts pain. Yet, one just can’t help but fall… and ultimately shatter; happens all the time. We all just have to deal with destiny’s call, you know?” I say still staring at the picture, grinning widely like an idiot to myself.

“Psst, that’s what you always say! You only see him during ‘occasions’ that you’ve barely even spoken to him or even know his authentic personality the slightest; and you believe you’ve fallen head over heels for the dude?” Jay argues.

“The way I see it, you’re doing no better! Who was the dumbo boyfriend who gave chocolates to the wrong girl, hm? I’m not taking advice from a hypocrite!” I defend.

The previous relationship Jay was involved in was a haunting tragedy; he dated a popular girl at school, who apparently has an identical twin. During Valentines eve, he inadvertently gifted chocolates to the wrong twin, because being the dimwit he is, he still couldn’t single-out their physical distinctions.

His response was to laugh it off humorously with his own circle of buddies. Then, the mishap soon became the school ‘talk’, everyone along the halls was chattering about it. That of course, incites fury within the girl and that’s the primary reason why Jay is still single, despite being fairly endearing, smart and not to mention; blazing hot.

“Libby baby, he’s not as flawless as you envision. You’ve went through this dozens of times before, you know he’s going to break your heart eventually, and I don’t want to see my baby sweeping the ground with tears again, hinged upon the dude who doesn’t have the same affection towards her.” Jay exclaims, in which I roll my eyes to.

“Stop assuming things, smarty-pants! He’s different,-one of a kind.” I utter, my eyes gleaming upon the thought of him.

“It’s not an assumption, I’m certain of it, Libby! Trust me, I was a boyfriend too and every single day, acting ‘his’ part felt like a chore. It was a nuisance and grief segregation. We boys crave expedition; we get a little too bored too soon.” He contends.

“He’s still the man I pursue! I don’t need you to lecture me with your love bull-crap; I am capable of handling myself, and I don’t plead for your involvement. I fancy Tristan, so what?” I debate.
“Then be it; but if he dares to ever hurt my Libby, God knows what I’ll do to him.” He vows like a conqueror and crawls next to me; allowing less than an inch separating our bodies.

I smack his arm playfully, “Keep distance!” I

He pouts, pretending to be wounded. “Move! You're breathing my air! I’m going to die of suffocation!” I exclaim, trying to shove him away hopelessly. I’m very pint-sized; approximately the size of his leg thus I scarcely moved him an inch. My desperate attempt to shove him away made him crack up in tearful laughter.
